Positive reviews of Chicagoland bars and restaurants
from a bartender who's tired of the negative bullsh*t people post on review sites.
As a seasoned server and bartender, I can speak personally–and for my fellow bartners–that one bane of our existence is rating/review platforms that allow guests to hide behind a computer screen and bash the places they visit or even call out employees by name on the netterwebs. (That is NOT ok, btw!)
This is not that kind of site.
My goal here is to give props and shout-outs to all of the Chicago places I've visited post-shutdown* who are simply nailing it, in one form or another. There will be no negative reviews here. If I go somewhere I don't like or wouldn't return, guess what...you won't read about it. I only want to uplift and give praise to my fellow restaurant/bar owners and employees for kicking ass! Going out to eat and drink is even more of a privilege than it used to be, and being in the service industry is even more challenging that it used to be. I'm here to recognize that, and share my findings with anyone who wants to join me. Cheers, friends! Thanks for hanging out:-)

*When I first started this blog, it was during the pandemic when bars and restaurants were JUST starting to re-open and navigating through all of the mandates and arbitrary mask requirements. I felt the need more than ever to bolster service industry businesses who managed to make it through the shut-down. After a long hiatus, I'm back at it with the same sense of purpose. A lot of folks feel like the quality of service, food and drinks didn't fully bounce back after the pandemic. I unfortunately have to agree as I, too, have had several not-so-great experiences at establishments that I used to or would expect to. So, once again, I want to give props and praise where due to the people and places who HAVE continued to provide wonderful atmospheres that make it worth spending my hard-earned money in an economy where everything is increasing except income.
